One of the core values of Rossmann Romania Group, Romcarton and Ambro, is solidarity towards the environment and future generations. Aware of the impact of human actions on the environment, we make sustained efforts to replicate the intrinsic circular economy model of our products at all levels of activity, through awareness-raising actions, but also concrete investment measures, aimed at streamlining manufacturing processes and reducing the carbon footprint.
Our circular economy model
The paper produced at Ambro Suceava is obtained exclusively from recycled waste paper.
Corrugated cardboard, a precursor of the circular economy model, is the packaging with the lowest environmental impact in the packaging sector, being the only 100% renewable, 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable packaging solution.
Thus, the activity in our paper and cardboard factories is carried out in a circular economy model with beneficial effects for the environment and society, by conserving resources and offering products designed to reduce energy and resource consumption.
We are concerned not only about the current development, but also about the consequences of our long-term actions on society and the environment. Therefore, we invest in an efficient management of material and human resources and in a comprehensive decarbonisation project.
Alongside accompanying our customers in the process of reducing their carbon footprint by offering low footprint packaging solutions, we are constantly concerned with the influence of our business in all aspects of ESG: environment, society and governance.
If through the perfectly circular activity model and the ongoing decarbonization projects, a mix of sustainable development goals (SDGs) is achieved, respectively 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 15, through the projects and partnerships within the priority axes of the policy of social responsibility of Romcarton and Ambro we also contribute to SDG 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10.
We are thus contributing to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in 15 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015.
The fight against climate change is one of the biggest concerns for Rossmann Romania.
Through energy-efficient technologies, measures to save energy and use renewable energy, but also to reduce the waste generated, we have set tangible targets to help achieve the climate targets set by the Paris Agreement.
We strongly believe that a company’s role within a community goes beyond its obligations as an economic actor.
Aware of the impact that our activity produces in society, we are actively involved in the community to which we belong, through a series of philanthropic projects, but also to educate and raise awareness of contemporary challenges.
Social dialogue, continuous improvement, promotion of diversity, equal opportunities and quality of life are the principles that guide our social responsibility policy.
